Assistant Professor
Dr. Zheer Ahmed is an Assistant Professor at the Centre of Excellence for Geopolitics and International Studies, REVA University, Bangalore. He has completed his PhD in International Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, focusing on “Environmental Narratives and Securitization of Water: A Study of Jordan River Region.” His research explores how non-traditional security threats, such as water scarcity influence Israel’s national security and its behaviour towards its neighbouring states. Dr. Zheer Ahmed has worked as Assistant Professor for more than six years in Delhi, Bangalore and Pune. He has convened FDPs, National Conferences and Seminars. He has been a mentor for students to write their undergraduate and post-graduate dissertation. He is a recipient of Junior Research Fellowship by the Ministry of Minority Affairs in collaboration with University Grant Commission.
His articles have been published in reputed Scopus-indexed and UGC-care listed journals. He holds a position in editor’s team in a number of reputed research journals. He is a reviewer for multiple journals, such as Journal of Polity and Society. He has been a member of Board of Studies in various universities. His research interests include geopolitics, security studies, West Asian politics, business and geopolitics, technology and geopolitics, Environmental security, Israel’s foreign Policy, Israel’s politics, India-Israel relations and International Relations Theory.
